What made you want to become an Eating Psychology Coach?
II struggled with a severe eating disorder since the age of 8. I tried every single diet, program, workout regimen, etc. I could get my hands on, to no avail. I would get a little better for a while, but eventually fall back into the same old destructive patterns.
After years upon years of this battle, I stumbled upon the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, watched one of Marc David’s videos and instantly knew this Training was something I had to look further into.
I have always been passionate about nutrition and working with people so this work was incredibly appealing to me. I realized I had a chance to both help myself overcome my own personal struggles while helping guide others through the same journey.
What do you love about being an Eating Psychology Coach?
One word: Transformation. Many clients come to me on their last straw believing there is no hope left and that they will continue this struggle for the rest of their lives. Being able to help guide others through their own journey to freedom with food has been the biggest blessing in my life. Watching my clients transform their lives with the same success that I have experienced is a wonderful, rewarding, and motivating feeling.
What does your practice look like?
I’m fortunate that I have both local as well as many worldwide clients. In order to accommodate them, I see many in person for one-on-one as well as group consultations. Most of my practice is shifting online via video communication to accommodate those further away. In addition, I have run two retreats in Bali, Indonesia (“End Your War with Food, Body and Pleasure”) and have coached group classes at multiple Wellness Centers around the US and New Zealand. I am currently in the process of creating a No Diet Journey Master Course, set to be released in early November of this year.
Most of my clients tend to be between the ages of 25-35 struggling with weight, overeating, yo-yo dieting, and body dysmorphia. I mainly specialize in healthy weight loss with a focus on ending the confusion around “dieting” and food.
How did your education at the Institute prepare you to work successfully with clients?
Without my education at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, I would not be prepared to successfully walk clients through this journey. The information I learned through the Training was invaluable both for my own life and for my clients. From nutrition principles, diving into the world of the mind, and even the back end of my business creating websites and how to optimally deliver information to clients, the Institute provided me with everything I needed to hit the ground running as soon as I graduated.
What was your favorite aspect of the Training?
This is a difficult question to answer as I truly loved every part of the Training. I was about 7 months into my travels around the world when I started this program. Traveling from one country to another, naturally I was a bit nervous about how I would manage my online studies. I was reassured this was very possible as soon as I recognized how well organized, user friendly and nicely spaced out this Training was. The Institute exceeded my expectations on every level. Above all, the videos with Marc were my favorite. The passion he has for his life’s work shines through in every video and kept me engaged and interested throughout every topic covered.
How has being an Eating Psychology Coach impacted your professional life/financial well-being?
Being an Eating Psychology Coach has given me the freedom to work remotely, set my own schedule, and travel more freely while feeling constantly rewarded and motivated each and every day. This career path provided me with the opportunity to help people and create a lifestyle which I had always envisioned. This dream became a reality and I feel very fortunate.
How has being an Eating Psychology Coach impacted you personally?
My personal life has benefitted on so many levels from being an Eating Psychology Coach. The quality of my relationships with family and friends has increased exponentially and much of it is a direct result from the training I have received from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. I no longer struggle with crazy battles around food and body; the battles I never thought I would be free from. Prior to this work, I had no idea how much those issues affected my relationships and life in general. This translates into being better able to relate and assist clients through their personal life struggles.
What do you see for yourself in your future as an Eating Psychology Coach – where is your work evolving towards?
It’s simple; I want to help as many people as I can in my life and information is the key. In an effort to spread this knowledge, my work is evolving toward delivering online courses to anyone with access to a computer. In addition, and understanding the need for this movement, I am adding more retreats to my travel schedule. I have found that week-long-focused, one-on-one and group training sessions render incredible results for my clients. These week-long retreats have proven to be very successful in breaking clients of old patterns and instilling new, healthy habits they can take home and continue to practice; fast tracking the journey to freedom.
Why Would You Recommend the Training to Others?
The Institute for the Psychology of Eating changed my life. Initially, and from a monetary perspective, this program seemed a lot for me to invest in. I decided to take a giant leap of faith and trust my instinct as I really believed in the Training. Afterall, I knew this was what I needed to help me open the next chapter in my life. I am eternally grateful for the life changing work the Institute is delivering. I highly recommend this Training to anyone struggling with food or wanting to work in the Health Coaching industry. Simply said, there is no other Training like it.
Anything else you’d like to share?
My life is exponentially better and more fulfilling on every level because of this work. I believe wholeheartedly in the Institute and the Training. It was the best investment I have ever made, both for my life and for humanity as I know I am personally and positively impacting individuals around the world as an Eating Psychology Coach.
It has been a beautiful journey thus far and I look forward to seeing where life as an Eating Psychology Coach takes me.
